I am based out of Fargo, North Dakota but like to call myself a Minnesotan too as I grew up staying between both states (true lake girl at heart). The Midwest has always been a place I have called home, but I thrive when traveling and exploring new places.

Being invited to take photos of the intimate seasons of my client’s lives makes me super nostalgic and dang honored. I hope to be considered more of a close friend than a photographer — I’m here for it all. I feel things deeply and there’s nothing I love more than making genuine connections and positive impacts, especially with other creative souls.

I started this business over seven years ago and had no clue where it was going to take me. What I did know was I loved taking photos, and I loved meeting new people. When I was growing up I was always the kid that would take thousands of photos for everything, enough photos for everyone to share, so no one else had to take them. I found true passion and purpose in that role. I’ve always been the camera gal in all my different circles in life. The name Revel Woods comes from my deep admiration and joy from nature - Revel means “to take delight in”, and I’ve always loved the forests and the trees.

Let's begin our friendship!

The Story Behind Revel Woods

"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters." Psalm 23:2

This summer was Jesse and I's moment to have our perfect day. It was honestly the most beautiful day we could have ever asked for, and we were so grateful to have all of our closest friends and family near. Everyone always says it is going to be the best day of your lives, and it truly was. Jesse and I have been together for 8 years, so we were so excited to finally make it official at our family lake property in Minnesota. Our talented vendor team helped us pull every detail together and we feel so blessed to have had such stunning weather! From the incredible florals, to the checkered dance floor and more, we could not have had a better wedding day.

Now after the wedding, I do have a new lead on how I capture and guide wedding days. The day is truly about being with your partner, friends and family. Leave as much time in your wedding timeline to just be, enjoy and party. The day goes by SO fast and these are moments you won't ever get back. I help all of my couples know how important their time is on the wedding day, making sure they don't have any regrets of how they spent their precious time on such a special day.

Our incredible vendor team from July 20th, 2024:
My hope is that you check out these vendors for your own wedding, they really are the best!

Our Summer Lakeside Wedding

MY WHY — Not only do I get to do what I love, but I also get to help couples have a wedding day they love and that feels true to them. It’s beautiful, it’s messy, it’s exciting — it’s everything they’ve dreamed it to be. I’ve always been one to follow my heart, and pursue what makes me happy. I’m always looking for the magic and joy in life and I could not be more grateful that now I get to help my couples follow their hearts, and capture their magic and joy. Whatever your current season of life is, no matter where you’re from, I’m here to celebrate with you and create. I want to create imagery you can feel, and a space for you to be fully open, and fully present with one another. I will observe, guide, and lean into moments as I see them unfolding, and that truly is a magical experience to witness. You can laugh hard, cry hard, and hug hard. Are you being present? Good. I will document the rest, artfully and honestly.

MY APPROACH — JOYFUL, TIMELESS, AND SERENE. That’s how I’d sum up my shooting style. When you feel you can be completely yourself in front of the camera, you get imagery that represents you in return. I promise to create a safe space for you to show off your true personality, and offer gentle guidance through every movement. You can feel relaxed and anything but awkward with me. And free to ditch the traditions you don’t mesh with, especially if it means having your dog as your only guest. As long as it lights you up and makes you happier to be human, all I have to say is DO YOU. I’ll be cheering you on. I understand I am not for everyone, in a sea of others. My clients value art, intimacy, intentionality, authenticity, honesty and a non-cookie-cutter experience. I know you could choose anyone, but I go all in for the ones who choose to trust me. Providing an easy going, comfortable, and honest experience. I allow you to be yourselves, because I trust you to let me be me, too. It’s a mutual relationship, and I value it. If you do too, then what are you waiting for? Let’s get this show on the road.

The Experience

& what to expect

I am based in Fargo, North Dakota. I photograph weddings and elopements all around the area (North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, South Dakota), but I also love to offer travel to my clients who book me for outside of my area.

Where are you located?

It truly depends on each wedding or elopement. After I receive your inquiry, I will let you know if there are any travel fees for your destination. If it’s somewhere I’ve been dreaming of visiting or somewhere new, we can discuss the discounts! In 2023, I shot in all these different places for my clients - ND, MN, WA, CO, SC, NH, NY, NC, FL and Mexico! 2024 and 2025 have some really exciting travel plans, too! Let's explore!

How does travel work for destination weddings and elopements?

I do not have a permanent studio. For portrait sessions, typically I prefer natural lighting outdoors, but I do have access to multiple indoor locations and studio options that we are able to rent if you are wanting to shoot indoors. Lots of options!

Do you have a studio?

Weather is crazy and unpredictable, especially in the midwest. The days leading up to your session, I will be keeping an eye on the weather. The day of your session, I will be in contact with you and we will decide if the weather is permitting. If not, we will reschedule to my soonest available opening. In my schedule, I leave time for potential reschedules so you will not have to wait months to reschedule!

What if the weather is bad on the day of my portrait session?

When your gallery is complete, I will immediately send your photos to your email. **happy dance!** From that point, you will have access to your online gallery with unlimited downloads. Weddings and elopements receive previews within 72 hours, which is so fast! I am so excited to send them to you!

How do I know when my photos are completed?

If you'd like to have a second shooter the day of your wedding and your package doesn’t already include it, please let me know as soon as possible. I recommend a second photographer to all my couples, as it is so helpful for so many reasons! My investment guide has more information about the benefits and how second shooters work. Please send me an email for more information.

Will there be a second shooter?
