WEDDINGS
Instead of a traditional wedding party, the Olsons chose to surround themselves with a close group of friends who traveled with them to celebrate. It felt perfectly fitting for a destination wedding, less structure, more connection. That decision gave the day a relaxed, communal feel and allowed the timeline to stay flexible and unforced.
This approach created space for genuine interactions, candid moments, and an overall sense of joy that carried through the ceremony and portraits. The daylight gave us those crisp, natural tones I love so much, clean colors, coastal light, and imagery that feels timeless rather than trendy.

Why Destination Weddings Will Always Have My Heart
The heart of this wedding lives in those sun-filled hours earlier in the day. From portraits to ceremony moments, everything felt grounded, warm, and true to who they are as a couple.
The Olson wedding is a perfect example of why I’m always grateful to travel for weddings, and why I especially love photographing weddings in Cancun. There’s a freedom that comes with destination celebrations, and when couples trust the process and allow the day to unfold naturally, the result is imagery that feels honest, beautiful, and deeply meaningful.
I’m endlessly thankful for couples like the Olsons who invite me into these moments, and I’ll never stop saying yes to weddings that take me back to places like this.

A Thoughtful, Unrushed Start to the Day
Some of my favorite moments from their wedding came from the very beginning of the day. The getting-ready moments were calm and beautifully detailed, filled with soft light, meaningful touches, and a sense of ease that carried throughout the entire morning. Their details felt elevated but effortless, nothing overdone, nothing rushed, just honest, refined moments that photographed so naturally.
Their first look was another highlight. It was quiet, emotional, and grounding, allowing them to connect privately before the rest of the day unfolded. These are the kinds of moments that always stand out to me, where the noise fades away and what matters most comes into focus.
The Olson wedding was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love destination weddings, and why Cancun, in particular, holds such a special place in my heart.
Even though their wedding was destination-based, every part of the day felt intentional, personal, and deeply relaxed. We flew to Cancun to photograph their celebration, and from the moment the morning began, it was clear this day was going to be something special. There’s something about all-inclusive resorts in Cancun that allows couples (and their people) to truly slow down, settle in, and be present, and the Olsons fully leaned into that rhythm.
